Fear Not

Fear Not: Embracing God’s Peace Through Faith

Fear Not: Embracing God’s Peace Through Faith. Introduction: Praise the Lord! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, as the psalmist declares. Amen. Greetings to all of you, dear readers, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am Pastor Charles Ewing, writing to you from St. Louis, Missouri, with a message of hope and encouragement. Today, let us rejoice in the day that the Lord has made and be glad in it. Amen. We thank God for this opportunity to share His Word with you, and I pray that it blesses and strengthens you.

The Power of God’s Word God’s Word is living, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It never returns void but accomplishes what He intends. It is my prayer that this message today will be beneficial and help you on your journey. David once said, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105, NKJV). Today, I want to talk about overcoming fear, as God commands us to “fear not.”

Understanding Fear Before we dive into the message, let us take a moment to pray.

Prayer Eternal Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You with thanksgiving. We thank You for this day and for every blessing You have bestowed upon us. Lord, we ask that You anoint our ears to hear, our eyes to see, and our hearts to receive Your Word. We rebuke every hindering spirit and declare that Your Word will impact all who read this message. We come against every situation, sickness, and disease, and we release healing in the name of Jesus. Bless this Word today and grant me the clarity to present it. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Fear Not: The Message The topic I want to explore today is “Fear Not.” Fear is something we all experience at various points in our lives. Someone once used the acronym F.E.A.R. to describe it as “False Evidence Appearing Real.” This acronym captures how fear can often be based on things that aren’t as real or as threatening as they seem.

Hollywood and the media often amplify fear with images of monsters, demons, and chaos, keeping people captivated and anxious. We live in times of uncertainty, with wars, natural disasters, and violence making headlines daily. These events can incite fear, causing people to live in a state of constant anxiety. However, while these fears are based on real events, they are magnified by our perceptions and the enemy’s desire to keep us in bondage.

God’s Promise of Peace but God has a different plan for us. He doesn’t want us to live in fear. As the Apostle Paul reminded Timothy, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV). Fear brings torment, but God offers us power, love, and a sound mind. The Holy Spirit empowers us to overcome fear, grounding us in God’s love and giving us the peace of mind that only He can provide.

Isaiah 43:1—God’s Assurance Let’s turn to the key verse for today, Isaiah 43:1: “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.'” This passage speaks to God’s chosen people, Israel, who were often beset by fear during times of captivity and trial.

In the Old Testament, the nation of Israel was united under King Solomon, but after his death, it divided into the northern and southern kingdoms. The ten tribes of the north were taken into captivity by the Babylonians, while the two tribes of the south, Judah and Benjamin, fell under Assyrian rule. Despite their disobedience and resulting captivity, God sent the prophet Isaiah to reassure them of His enduring love and redemption.

Application for Today This message of reassurance applies to us today as well. Though the Bible is divided into the Old and New Testaments, God’s Word is unified. The Old Testament foreshadows the New, and the New Testament reveals the fulfillment of God’s promises in Christ. Isaiah’s words are as relevant now as they were then: God has redeemed us through His Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16 reminds us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (NKJV).

Conclusion In these uncertain times, let us hold fast to God’s promise: Fear not, for He is with us. He has given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Let us walk in faith, trusting that God will guide us through every trial. Amen.

Closing Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and for the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help us to trust in You and to overcome fear by the power of Your Holy Spirit. We commit our lives into Your hands, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
